2. The personal data we collect
We only collect what we need. Depending on how you use the site, that includes:
- Enquiry data — your name, work email, company and the message you send through our contact form.
- Pricing estimate data — the scope you build in our pricing tool (plan, ad spend, bolt-ons) together with the name, email and company you submit to unlock your proposal.
- Usage and analytics data — pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location, collected via cookies only after you consent. See our cookies policy.
- Technical data — standard server logs (IP address, request time) generated to keep the site secure and available.
3. How we use your data and our lawful bases
Under UK GDPR we rely on the following lawful bases:
| Purpose | Data | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Reply to your enquiry and provide a proposal | Enquiry and pricing estimate data | Legitimate interests / steps prior to a contract |
| Measure and improve site performance | Usage and analytics data | Consent |
| Measure ad campaigns and relevant content | Marketing cookies data | Consent |
| Send follow-up emails about your enquiry | Enquiry data | Legitimate interests (you can opt out anytime) |
| Keep the site secure and prevent abuse | Technical data | Legitimate interests |
| Meet legal and accounting obligations | Enquiry and contract data | Legal obligation |
We do not sell your data, and we do not add you to a general marketing list unless you ask us to.
4. Cookies and consent
We set non-essential cookies only after you agree via our consent banner, using Google Consent Mode v2. You can change or withdraw your choice anytime from the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. Full detail is in our cookies policy.
5. Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers (processors) that help us run the business, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Google (Ireland/US) — analytics and Consent Mode, only with your consent.
- Vercel (US) — website and application hosting.
- Neon (EU/US) — secure database hosting for enquiries.
- Resend (US) — sending transactional and follow-up emails.
We may also disclose data where required by law or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
6. International transfers
Some processors are based outside the UK. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum to EU Standard Contractual Clauses, so your data keeps an equivalent level of protection.
7. How long we keep it
- Enquiry and pricing data — up to 24 months after our last contact, then deleted or anonymised, unless a contract requires longer.
- Analytics data — retained per Google’s settings (typically up to 14 months) in aggregated form.
- Your consent choice — stored for up to 12 months, then we ask again.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- restrict or object to how we process it;
- data portability;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing.
To exercise any of these, email hello@bettsandburton.com. We respond within one month.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and trusted infrastructure providers to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to guard against unauthorised access, loss or misuse.
10. Children
Our services are for businesses and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
11. Complaints
If you have a concern, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised, and material changes will be reflected here.
